This is Sunderland is a longterm ongoing project which aims to document the ever-changing industrial and historic landscape of Wearside. All images are taken on film using vintage camera equipment, in keeping with the locations and subjects.
Many of these images would not have been possible without the generosity and understanding of people who granted access to certain locations - for this I am truly grateful. Most of the images on this site are available to buy as prints, more info can be found in the Sales section.
This is Sunderland is still a project in it's infancy, large areas of the city are still unphotographed. Regardless, what you see here is only a small selection culled from around 3000 images - choosing photos for this website was a difficult job.
